Aspire!.....Women's Support Project

The The Women's Support Project is a new initiative established by Aspire (Women's Development Project) at the Stepney Community Trust in 2009.

Established as a support base for women within the BAME community, the project provides life long skills, workshops, seminars and training for women who need support in their lives.

The practical sessions focus on development, parenting, mobility, independence, health, education/employment and sustainability within the community; and initiate workshops and taster days where the whole community can join in.

The sessions are very productive and encourage women to engage in team building experiences, take part in sports, follow a healthy lifestyle guideline, develop strong relationships at home and outside, and build upon their accreditations.

The project works well as it emphasises community support, as all our trainers and peer staff are professionals from the local community, who not only see it as an integral part of their social duty but also enjoy the opportunity to empower our local women.
