Stepney Community Trust, formerly known as the St Mary's Centre is a grass roots community led charity set up in 1982.
The Trust has grown, consolidated and built our expertise to the extent that we have had a profound impact upon the local area over 25 years, assisting to influence policy, develop new services and support those in existence.
The association gained charity registration on January 1986 and company registration in July 1986.
The St. Mary’s Centre successfully acquired a freehold building and this has become our
Resource Centre.
The Stepney Community Trust is managed by a Board of Directors who are elected annually by the local community.
On June 2004, the name changed from the St Mary's Centre to the Stepney Community Trust to reflect the changes in our plans.
We have been successful because a need exists in the community and no other group provides this service locally - the Stepney Community Trust is renowned for delivering its promises and for quality of services. |
